Dr. Héctor Eduardo Quezada Tirado is currently a surgeon acting as Team Leader of Response Alert of the National Center of Epidemiology, Prevention and Control of Diseases of the Ministry of Health (MINSA). In his 24 years of work experience, he worked at the Regional Health Department of Amazonas, completing his SERUMS for the MINSA, and later working in the Peruvian Institute of Social Security (IPSS), until returning to the Ministry of Health, followed by a position by appointment by the DIRESA Amazonas. At DIRESA he held different administrative positions such as the Director of Health of Persons, Head of Training, Director of Programs and Health Services, Basic Health Coordinator, Director of Epidemiology, Executive Director of Health Intelligence, among others.
Following some notable academic accomplishments, he has also obtained the specialty of Field Epidemiology by the Specialization Program in Field Epidemiology (PREC) organized by the General Office of Epidemiology of MINSA.
From October 2012 to the present he has been working as Team Leader of Response Alert of the National Center of Epidemiology has allowed him to interact as a member of the National Liaison Center for the International Health Regulations and as Technical Secretary of the Permanent Multisector Commission for the follow-up of the “Plan for the Improvement of Basic Capacities of Surveillance and Response in the country, including points of entry, within the framework of the RSI implementation process (2005)” , as well as participating in various international events related to research and outbreak control, response to chemical events, among others.
In recent years he has developed experience in epidemiological surveillance of diseases and events of importance in national and international public health.
